NYI Newsletter

March 13, 2010

Students, Youth Leaders, and Parents,

I can’t believe it has been since July of 2009 since I updated this site.  For that I do apologize, since it is our primary means of communication and place to download forms I will make a better effort to keep it up to date.

Before I share about some upcoming things I want to express my personal thanks to Kelli Mitchem who has done a GREAT Job with the Nebraska NYI quizzing this year!  Thank you Kelli!  Also, congrats to all the quizzers on a great season, I look forward to seeing those of you who qualified compete at MAX!

From April until July, the Nebraska NYI has tons of stuff going on!  Stuff you don’t want to miss.

April 15-17 - MAX at the MNU campus, we will be staying on campus and enjoying all of the competition and hanging out.  See the MAX web page for forms and other details.

April 23-24 – 30 Hour Famine at Heritage Hill Church.  We will be camping out in a box city, hosting a food and clothing drive, and going to Together Inc. to deliver and sort our goods.  Check out the web page for more details.

June 10-11 – District Assembly.  I want to encourage ALL Nebraska teens to come out and support our district and be part of this annual event.

June 14-18 – NYI Camp 2010 Power On at MNU Campus.  This is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to have camp on the MNU Campus.  It is going to be crazy awesome!  We will be learning how to utilize the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives as Christians.  Check out the web page for all the forms and details!

July 9-11 – Work and Witness in McCook – This is a new event for Nebraska, we will be travelling to McCook and do some good work around the city and spend time together in the word.  Check out the web page for details.

I am excited for all of these events coming up and know that God will work mightily this summer preparing you for your own mission field, work or school!  We have SOME money available for scholarships if there is a student or church that does not have the means to get to some of these events.  Please contact me (Scott) if you need assistance!

Also I have really enjoyed this last year watching youth groups really grow as local churches are placing more emphasis on their youth!  Keep up the great work.  I can’t wait to get to know all the new youth leaders on the district and brainstorm how we can really be a resource to each other!

It is an honor to serve teens and youth leader in Nebraska and I hope to continue to see our district grow in faith and numbers!  If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me on facebook, email or cell phone anytime!

In His service!
Scott Spratlen
